This building is a new eleven-unit housing project in West Hollywood, California. Dubbed as Formosa 1140, this residential unit was designed by Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects (LOHA) . There is a buffer between public and private realms provided by the external circulation. The circulation is shaded by metal panels in beautiful articulation and red clad. The design created a central park in approximately one third (4,600 sf) of the project site. This park was created from the internalized open space of the courtyard and moves it to the exterior of the building. Each apartment has a view over the park and makes use of cross-ventilation.
