This unbuilt design has won the 2008 Honor Award of AIA Chicago. Studiogang Architects designed this project as the challenge of contemporary practices of residential construction in China. For that reason, in the design there is ‘courtyard fabric’ as the respond to environmental conditions such as sun and wind, and to maximize social and recreational use of the ground plane but it comes in contemporary design. This high rise building takes on a 209,245 sqm site area. Zhong Bang Village as the residential building becomes an identifiable landmark for the village with unencumbered views.
