This is an extension building project for Kuchl Grammar School in Kuchl, Austria. The school building will be added with four classrooms and a gymnasium. The project has 2,110 sqm areas that was a very small site in a typical village structure. The existing building is connected to the new building through an adapting passageway that functions as a weather-protected alleyway, which reorganizes the access to the building ensemble, providing it with a clear address and likewise eliminating the deficit of the useful outside surface area.
The design has to consider the context of building site. The shape of building must provide the maximum daylight for the classrooms and the neighboring dwelling either. The gymnasium is sunken into the earth with natural light from the courtyard. This project is designed by Kadawittfeldarchitektur.
